Love this place. Very authentic and easy to miss on this bustling street. But the food was excellent! We drive down just for the lahksa!

Food was pretty decent for a Malay place. We order a lot of appetizers and a couple of main dishes. The Indian pancake was good. 4 stars.
Beef/chicken skewers 4 stars
Hainese chicken 3 stars
Fried pork chop 3 stars
Thai fried rice 5 stars
The belechan "water spinach" veggie dish 3 stars
Clams with black bean 2 stars
Oyster omelette 3.5 stars
Overall it's not bad. Could be improved a bit. -

I hate to give low-rating reviews, but the staff here is a prime example of how businesses try to take advantage of foreigners.
I took my non-Asian friend here (whom I was obviously speaking English with) since she wanted to try some amazing Flushing food. This is one of those no-frills hidden gems of Flushing and a decent Malay spot. We ordered in English because, why not? We had the Spicy Thai Chicken, Hainan Chicken, and the watercress.
All was going well, the food was good, and we didn't feel rushed since we were the only customers during lunch time.
Then the bill came...
There was something very off amount the total, despite having a mental rough estimate the entire time. We knew we weren't getting dirt-cheap prices, but over $30 for a lunch special, a quarter-pound of Hainanese Chicken, and a plate of veggies? C'mon, even a kid can sense something's fishy.
I double-checked the prices on their menu and turns out they snuck an extra $5 to the watercress--it's too obvious when the cheapest plate of veggies goes up to $14. They simply said the "price went up". The two female staffers spoke among themselves in Cantonese and I understood every word of it. I then finally let my Canto side unleash and blurbed out, "You didn't disclose this when we ordered."
They shut up immediately and took back the bill to adjust. It was suuuuper shady, especially for an pretty well-known establishment that has been around for ages. I can't imagine how much they pull this off with English-speaking customers who are clueless or are too nice to say anything.
The worst was that this was my friend's first time trying Malaysian food and nearly getting robbed was her first experience.
TLDR; use your Canto and check your bill all the way. -

Wow, ate here every week and I haven't reviewed here...
I guess I don't have any negative review for here..LoL
This time I had Pad Thai. The quantity of this noodle is a lot, so much that the dish has no room to mix.
Pad Thai has 5 cooked shrimp, dry tofu, raw bean spout and lime in the side.
To perfect this dish, ask the waitress for sliced jalapeño soaked in vinegar. The spicy and vinegar will thin the pad Thai peanut sauce.
$8.00 is reasonable.
Why no 5 stars? The restaurant is ghetto. -

This is my go to place in Flushing for hainanese chicken. I've tried other dishes here and I'm honestly not the biggest fan but their hainanese chicken is pretty amazing! I've tried their Mapo tofu and their clams with black bean sauce. It tasted a bit off in my opinion. The tofu lacked spice and tasted sort of bland. The clams were very small and lacked flavor. Their roti and chicken are delicious though.
Restaurant needs major renovation but I would recommend this place if you're craving hainanese chicken.
